John Robins, P.Geo., Chairman - A geologist by training and a prospector at heart, John Robins is a graduate from the University of British Columbia with a degree in geological sciences. With over 25 years of experience in mineral exploration, Mr. Robins has earned a reputation as being an innovative explorer and an astute business man. He is a registered professional geologist in the province of British Columbia and a Fellow of the Geological Association of Canada. Mr. Robins is a principal in the Hunter Exploration Group, one of Canada's most successful private mineral exploration firms and an active director of several successful public companies.
Mike Sieb, B.Sc., MBA, President - A self-employed geological consultant, Mike Sieb graduated from Concordia University in 1989 with a B.Sc. (specialization in geology) and from the University of British Columbia in 1994 with an MBA. He brings strong technical and management skills to Brilliant, with broad experience in Canadian mineral exploration and the advancement of mineral projects.
Mr. Sieb has served as a director and senior officer in a number of mineral exploration companies, including as Exploration Manager for Northern Empire Minerals (currently Stornoway Diamond Corp.) from 2001 to 2003, where he was an integral member of the team that discovered the Melville Peninsula (Aviat) and the Rankin Inlet kimberlites.
John Williamson, P.Geol., CEO and Director - John Williamson, P.Geol., CEO and Director - Mr. Williamson is a professional geologist registered with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA). He is also a Fellow of the Geological Association of Canada and Member of both the Society of Economic Geologists and the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (CIM). Mr. Williamson has 20 years of experience in conducting mineral exploration and development, mining, project management, property evaluations, geoscientific and environmental studies throughout Canada, South America, Russia and Western Australia. His exploration and production experience includes precious metals (Au, Ag, PGE), base metals (Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Mo), diamonds and aggregate deposits.
Mr. Williamson has applied technical methodologies to conceptualize and advance many grass roots projects as well as develop a number of significant advanced exploration projects, including production phases. Mr. Williamson has also been instrumental in acquiring venture capital for these companies, and has been directly involved with raising over $50,000,000 for several of these public companies through private placements, prospectus offerings and initial public offerings.
Sean Mager, B.Com., CFO and Director - Mr. Mager is a graduate of the University of Alberta School of Business and has spent thirteen years in private and public management and consulting, including six years in Canada's Northwest Territories. His northern experience includes serving as COO for an aboriginal investment corporation and as the lead Financial Management Analyst for the industry portfolio of the territorial government. From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Mager was the VP Corporate Development for a TSXV-listed logistics firm serving northern mining clients such as BHP's Ekati diamond mine and Cumberland Resources' Meadowbank gold project. Since 2000, he has applied his expertise in corporate and northern affairs to the development and governance of junior mining and mineral exploration companies.
Robert L. Carpenter, Ph.D., P. Geo., Director - Dr. Carpenter, is a practicing professional geologist and has been involved with all aspects of precious and base metal exploration for over 16 years. He has over ten years of experience with BHP-Billiton Ltd., Placer Dome Inc., and WMC Resources Ltd., focused primarily on early stage exploration projects throughout Canada, Australia and the United States. While with WMC Resources Ltd, he spent time on gold and nickel projects throughout North America. More recently, he spent three years with the Federal Department of Indian and Northern Affairs, where he was responsible for evaluating technical reports submitted on mineral claims, prospecting permits and mining leases as required under the Canada Mining Regulations and recommend their approval/rejection based on compliance. For the past two years, he served as Senior Exploration Geologist for Committee Bay Resources Ltd. and the Hunter Exploration Group. Mr. Carpenter obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Carpenter completed his Ph.D. thesis on the regional geological setting of the Meliadine Lake gold deposits located near Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. Dr. Carpenter is certified by the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (P. Geo) and is the President and CEO of Kaminak Gold Corporation (KAM: TSXV).
Leigh Stanley Junk, Grad Dip Min, Dip Surv, Director - Leigh Junk graduated from the University of Ballarat in 1992 with a Graduate Diploma of Mining and obtained a Diploma of Surveying from Wembley Technical College in 2000. He is currently studying towards obtaining a Masters in Mineral Economics and an MBA from Curtin University. Mr. Junk commenced his professional career in 1992 as a Surveyor, progressing to Senior Mining Engineer with several mining companies throughout Western Australia, including Pilbara Manganese Pty Ltd, WMC Resources Ltd. and Mincor Operations Pty Ltd. Leigh and his brother Ian, were recipients of the Goldfields Business of the Year Award 2003 (Donegal Resources) and the 2003 E&Y Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He is a specialist in the area of mine planning involving feasibility studies, project evaluation, production scheduling and mine design. Mr. Junk is a Director of the Goldfields Credit Union and a Member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgists.
Ian Junk, BEng (Mining), MAusIMM, MCME, Director - Mr. Junk holds a Bachelor Engineering (Mining) Hons. from the Western Australian School of Mines - Kalgoorlie (1990) and a WA 1st Class Mine Manager Ticket (1996). He is a former member of the Board of Management for WA School of Mines and a recipient of the Goldfields Business of the Year Award 2003 (Donegal Resources) and the 2003 E&Y Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Mr. Junk is currently a Director of various ASX and TSX listed companies and has 18 years experience in underground and open pit mining operations, both small and large scale in technical and managerial roles. Ian has gained a reputation for his excellent technical knowledge and for being a systematic, thorough mine manager, using a team-based approach to solve challenging situations. His mining experience has been gained in Australia at Mt. Gibson Gold Project, various mines in the Mt Isa region and the Otter, Coronet and Long Shaft mines in Kambalda. Ian was instrumental in the formation and management of the Mitel Joint Venture, which was the successful tenderer for the Miitel and Wannaway lease blocks sold by WMC Resources Ltd.
